This book offers a variety of essays and fiction activities to chose from.  I followed my daughter’s interests, and had her pick which she would like to do. . By the time she was ready to tackle the essay writing, the story writing practice made her writing confidence strong.....

 If you have a child struggles with reading, focusing, and visual distractions, or a teen, who just gets distracted by the other words on the page…my family recommend trying the Reading Focus Cards.   I like how they work to eliminate distraction, helping the reader to focus on just the words at hand, at the time......




Draw Write Now handwriting and art program helped my daughter develop her printing skills and have fun while doing it!  The series consists of eight books, each with a different theme and all written at the same level....



This phonics based program is based on the 200 most commonly used words in the English language and the words frequently misspelled by second graders, and it really helped my struggling speller....


sign language flash cards


Sign Language Flash Cards includes 105 colorfully illustrated cards that teach the signs for numbers, and letters plus some very basic common words.  Your children can learn these signs and reinforce their learning at the same.......

We found Vocabulary Spelling V to be a complete vocabulary program for my teen. And the best thing about it was that it helped her to prepare for the SAT!  Learning to do the Word Analysis  was key!  It taught my daughter.....

 If you are looking for a solid health curriculum for your young teen, my family recommends A Beka’s A Healthier You.  It not only covers all the basics, it gives you, the parent, many opportunities to add family conversations on health to the mix, with lots of discussion starters......

Do you children have trouble remembering what they have read?  The folks at Spectrum created a book at the third grade reading level, that addresses just this problem. It is full of child-oriented stories that are fun to read.....

How to Write a Research Report

When my daughter finished working through this book, she had written her first middle school research report! And she came away.....
